 Q). Do I need a passport to travel outside theUnited States and how do I get one if I do?
A). The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 requires that by January 1, 2008 travelers to/from all international destinations INCLUDING Canada, Caribbean, Bermuda, Bahamas & Mexico must have a passport. This initiative will be implemented in phases.
December 31, 2006 – requirement applied to all air and sea travel to or from Mexico, Canada, Caribbean, Central & South America, and Bermuda
December 31, 2007- requirement applied to all land boarder crossings as well as air and sea travel.
